Man Behind the Gluttony

Twenty-two years ago and two thousand miles away Sean Con and Mean Jean brought a little baby into the world. They decided to name him after the classic Campbell’s Soup, inspired both by Warhol’s iconic image as well as the inovation of condensed chicken noodle. Spending his childhood in the culinary meccas of Italy and New Jersey, food surronded the young boy from day one. Gnocchi bolognese and taylor-ham, egg, & cheeses eventually lead to his adolescent obesity, but he was able to overcome and appreciate food while also maintaining his pseudo-thin figure. Up and down, thick and thin, food has been the one constant in his tumultous life — well other than a stable home life with loving parents and siblings. Late night runs to the diners, culinary road trips, family dinner parties, and the occasional WC slider.

  1. While I did introduce you to more than a few interesting places, I’m sorry you missed the Orange Diner – a very tiny chrome and glass diner definitely in need of maintenance but with a cozy feel that you would like. I remember one night stopping in the wee hours for some coffee and seeing a guy at teh counter passed out into his plate of eggs and hash browns – and nobody was waking him up. A few years later I turned teh corner to see a big excavater crushing it up into a dumster to make way for a drive in window for the bank on teh corner.
